Thanks to an upgraded chip, the device is not only capable of playing 4K content but it is compatible with AV1 codec among others. It also has support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS HD.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the stick arrives with dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 1 x HDMI, and 1 x MicroUSB. It ships with an HDMI extender cable and a power adapter.
The new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K features the same design as the older
Mi TV Stick as both are part of the same lineup and were supposed to launch together last year. Hence, it also comes with the usual minimal Bluetooth-enabled Xiaomi remote control with a built-in microphone for voice control and dedicated hotkeys for Netflix as well as Prime Video.
It is powered by an Amlogic S905Y4 SoC comprising an ARM Cortex-A35 CPU and
ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The chipset is paired with 2GB RAM and a meager 8GB storage.
